Thunderbirds Those who thought that mobile phones with fluffy ears epitomised the height of cool, may not have realised that they were out-classed many years ago by the communicating crockery of Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward.

Summoned to serve the needs of those in peril, as she sat down for afternoon tea, Lady Penelope would converse with aristocratic equanimity through the medium of her enhanced teapot.

Though she was the daughter of Sir Hugh Creighton-Ward and destined for a life of sophisticated leisure, she opted instead for the career of Secret Agent and soon became a central figure in the daring escapades of International Rescue.

Her loyal retainer Parker, who chauffeurs her in her famous pink Rolls Royce, also made a slight career change. Previously a singularly skilled safe-cracker, his skills are now entirely at the service of Lady Penelopes noble espionage activities.
