Character Guide
The Groosalugg

Groo Champion, king, and sweet little puppy-dog.

The strongest and best warrior in all Pylea, the Groosalugg first met the Angel Investigations team when he was meant to com-shuck with Princess Cordelia. Although the two fell in love, no com-shucking took place as it would mean Cordelia's visions would pass to him from her.

Now, Pylea having become a republic with no place for him, the Groosalugg, or Groo as Cordelia calls him, has come in search of his princess. And that com-shucking that never quite happened.

Brave, steadfast and loyal, Groo's also a bit of a fish out of water in LA. Will the path of love run smooth for him, or will an older love soon call Cordelia back?

Mark Lutz was born in Canada and has also lived in Hong Kong. He came into acting through improvised comedy, and has appeared on numerous US television shows, including such cult programmes as Due South and Earth: Final Conflict.

He really is as buff as his performance as the Groosalugg suggests - Mark is an international swimmer who has tried out for the Olympics. Since appearing on Angel, he's been very active on the convention circuit, often appearing with his friend Andy Hallett (Lorne).

Watch an interview with Mark and Andy.
