Half demon (on his father's side) and a man with vision(s).
Half human on his father's side, Allen Francis Doyle was appointed by The Powers That Be to guide Angel in his quest to help the hopeless.
Doyle's powerful visions of impending evil in Los Angeles often kicked
off Angel's missions to right wrongs - and gave him blinding headaches
in the process. He should have been used to those, however, as he
certainly liked a drink or two, not to mention the gambling...
Doyle, previously married to demonology expert Harry, developed quite a
crush on Cordelia. He was terrified, however, that his demonic heritage
would frighten her off and hid it as best he could. Ultimately, he
needn't have worried.
In a shockingly unexpected turn of events, Doyle sacrificed his life at
the climax of the episode Hero, deactivating a deadly device with the
power to wipe out impure demons. He passed his gift of visions to Cordy,
much to her annoyance.
Glenn Quinn spent eight years playing Mark Healy in hit TV comedy
Roseanne before joining Angel. His accent is real - he was born in
Dublin. Writer Jane Espenson revealed, however, that Glenn often
re-dubbed his own dialogue in post-production if it sounded too
incomprehensible to an American audience.
Sadly, Glenn Quinn died in December 2002.
