Scott Ciencin, previously responsible for Buffy Teen novel Sweet Sixteen has teamed up with occasional co-author Dan Jolley to explore demonic self-help groups and Eden mythology in this enjoyable read.
Highlights include Angel's seduction by a powerful artefact, leading to a magnificent confrontation between him and Wesley as the ex-Watcher desperately attempts to prevent a moment of perfect happiness that would unleash Angelus upon the world.
Other delights include the return of geeky billionaire David Nabbitt, intended as a recurring character on the TV show until other acting commitments prevented actor David Herman from reprising the role.
Here we see the potential for a touching double act between Nabbitt and Cordelia, as the former proves that he will always love her, despite the many emotional and physical scars she might receive fighting evil.
