Mind the Baby
Teleplay by Richard Manning
Directed by Andrew Prowse

DID YOU NOTICE?

  • While this episode follows on directly from the big season 1 finale cliffhanger, it was not going to be the first episode of season 2. Instead, in a very refreshing departure from all other SF series, the season 2 premiere was to have ben 'Re:Union', an entirely different story. Zhaan, Chiana and Rygel, last seen warping off into space, were to have arrived at some other planet where Zhaan would be imprisoned. Crichton would feature in dream-like visions, but otherwise the plot would have existed entirely separately from the big cliffhanger stories.

  • 'Re:Union' was dropped at the last moment, reportedly after it had been filmed, in favour of this one, which was originally season 2's second episode. Expect to see it in a couple of months, though, as a mid-season episode, now renamed 'Dream A Little Dream'.

  • Sticking to Mind the Baby, just how many people can fit into Aeryn's Prowler?

  • If Moya still has the dinky little defence shield that the crew nicked from the Zelbinion (in the first season episode PK Tech Girl), why hasn't it been used since?

  • D'Argo sitting on the floor outside Crais's cell is a nod to Crichton doing the same thing in the previous episode.

  • Crais becoming bound into Talyn with the neural connection is ironic because actor Lani Tupu plays both Crais and Pilot the figure bound into Moya.
