Andrew McCarthy
Doctor Hook: Brilliant, unconventional and heroic neurosurgeon.

Doctor Hook is the surgeon who performs a lifesaving operation on artist Peter Rickman.

He secretly keeps a log of gross malpractice and other violations by Kingdom Hospital doctors.

Andrew McCarthy made his screen debut at 19 in 1983's Class with Jacqueline Bissett, and gained fame in a string of commercial hits throughout the rest of the 1980s including St. Elmo's Fire, Pretty in Pink, Mannequin, Less Than Zero and the cult favorite Weekend at Bernie's.

Throughout his career McCarthy's has also been involved with special television projects including recent top-billing roles in Hallmark Channel's Straight from the Heart and FX's The Sight, as well as guest-starring on Monk. In addition, he was in the BBC's award-winning production of The Common Pursuit, and starred in the telefilms The Christmas Tree, Sally Field's directorial debut.

A veteran of several New York theatre productions, McCarthy has starred in nine plays during the last five years including the Tony Award-winning Sideman on Broadway. McCarthy was born in New York City and currently resides in the city with his wife and kids.
