R&B vocalist Ashanti is slated for a guest spot on Buffy, according to the MTV web site.

She'll play Lissa, a deadly date for Xander, and will appear in the episode, called First Date, due to air in February in the US.

Twenty-two year old Ashanti hit the music scene with her debut album selling nearly three million copies in the States alone.

It looks like it is going to be a packed year for Ashanti as she has just won best new artist Hip-Hop/R&B at the American Music Awards and has 5 2003 Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist of the Year and Best Female R&B Performance

It's a wonder she could fit Buffy in.
