Rumours of a sequel to the excellent Buffy the Vampire Slayer Xbox game have reached us - from an unexpected source.

Dark Horse Comics report that they will publish a new comic this summer, based on "the upcoming videogame, Buffy: Chaos Bleeds."

Total Games Net claims that the writers of the comic, Christopher Golden and Thomas E. Sniegoski are working on the videogame story line, which involves the barriers between alternate realities eroding around Sunnydale.

Buffy and the gang face nightmare versions of friends and allies, as well as enemies thought long dead. The comic features the return of the vampiric Gorch clan, Sid the Dummy and Faith.

Golden was unable to confirm or deny the announcement to us at this stage, although non-disclosure agreements are commonplace in the gaming industry. We'll try to bring you the scoop on this as soon as we can.

Meanwhile, check out our extensive section on the first Buffy game - complete with a 100-page novella prequel by Golden and Sniegoski - in Buffy Stuff.
