We're delighted to report that Charisma Carpenter successfully gave birth to a baby boy last Monday, nearly a week after her original due date.

It's the first child for Charisma and husband Damian Hardy. Weighing in at 8 pounds 10 ounces, Donavan Charles Hardy was born at the Cedar Sinai hospital in Beverly Hills. "Baby and mother are doing very well," said a rep for the actress. No other details were released.

Carpenter, 32, and the baby's father, a psychology major at Santa Monica College, wed at a simple ceremony in Las Vegas last October. They are now expected to throw a bigger showbiz bash to celebrate both the marriage and their new arrival, reports Yahoo News.

Charisma and Damian reportedly met five or six years ago, dated, got engaged, broke up and then got back together again.

After a very brief break, Charisma is expected to return to Angel shortly to complete work on the show's fourth season.
