BBC2 is screening the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer film this Friday.
Released in 1992, the film is worth watching to compare and contrast with the series we love.
Here's what the Radio Times has to say about the movie:
Clueless meets Dracula in this engagingly silly yet knowing horror comedy that eventually led to the hit TV series.
Kristy Swanson is cheerfully dim-witted as LA teenager Buffy, who's surprised to discover that she is actually charged with saving the city from suave Rutger Hauer and his fellow vampires.
The film is also famous for scenes that were left on the cutting-room floor. Seth Green's role as a geeky vampire with braces was cut, but, of course, creator Joss Whedon remembered him and later cast him as Oz in the TV version.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is on BBC2 on Friday 1st August at 11.35pm.
