Joss Whedon has been talking about why people should tune in to watch Angel's soon-to-start fifth season.

Speaking on the WB's official site, co-creator and producer Whedon suggested, "The number one reason people should watch in the fifth season would be the first four seasons, I'd say. The other reason is that last season was very internal - it was very much one story over 22 hours. This season will be a lot easier for people who've never seen Angel to jump into."

"It'll almost be a whole new show in a way, but still the same sensibility with a lot of the same cast", Whedon continued.

With James Marsters somehow transferring to Angel after Buffy's series finale, Whedon teased "Oh, and we have a little thing called Spike..." Angel returns for US viewers on October 1st, with season premiere Conviction.
