Rumours are gathering that a sixth season of Angel has been commissioned.

E!online's Watch with Kristen column recently let slip that the Angel had been picked up for a further run.

In previous weeks it had been suggested that a 22 episode run of Angel for season five wasn't guaranteed, but that strong ratings had ensured that a full season would be produced.

Now it looks like the re-vamped show (sorry) has impressed the WB bosses to the extent that another season has been commissioned.

Of course this hasn't been confirmed by the WB and it could prove totally false.

The addition of Spike and more standalone episodes have understood to have contributed to this success.
