Sarah Michelle Gellar has signed to star in the the film The Grudge.

While it's great news that we'll be able to catch Gellar on the big screen, her decision to make The Grudge has put paid to plans to feature Buffy in two episodes of Angel.

Creator Joss Whedon had hoped to persuade her to visit LA and screen the episodes during May sweeps.

TV Guide tried to contact a representative of Gellar's to comment on the no show, but no comment was forthcoming.

Joss Whedon just said, "She feels it's not the right time."
