Multiple nominations for vampire show in top sci-fi awards.

In an ironic twist, the just-cancelled vampire show has been nominated in four categories of the prestigious Saturn Awards. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was nominated in three categories.

Both series were nominated in the important Best Network Television Series, alongside Alias, CSI, Smallville and Enterprise. David Boreanaz and Sarah Michelle Gellar also won nominations in the Best Actor/Actress in a TV Series categories. The list also included ex-Buffy star Eliza Dushku, for her new series Tru Calling.

Amy Acker and Charisma Carpenter both appeared on the list for Best Supporting Actress, while Best Supporting Actor saw Alexis Denisof and James Marsters nominated, the latter for both Buffy and Angel.

The awards are organised by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror, and are now in their thirtieth year.
