Sarah Michelle Gellar talks about her latest film.
In an interview with Sci Fi Wire.com, Sarah Michelle Gellar talks about the challenge of filming The Grudge.
The movie is a remake of the Japanese horror film Ju-On. In the film Sarah plays a nurse who is sent to work in a Tokyo house where strange events from the past are affecting the present.
Unlike other remakes, The Grudge is helmed by the same director as the original, Takashi Shimizu, a factor that made the film quite demanding.
"This will either be the best acting of our lives, or possibly some of the worst that we might ever do," Sarah told Sci Fi Wire. "Just because you're very unsure. But I learned so much here as an actor, it's your job to give yourself up completely to the director. But you never really do that, because you have a lot of control in America or in England or Australia or wherever you are, because you speak the language."
"As an actor, it's sort of a dream experience. We sort of say, 'It's like watching any of your old work with no sound and trying to figure out if you know what that person is saying and you know what's happening.' Because that's kind of what we're doing."
The Grudge opens in the US in the autumn.
