Sarah Michelle Gellar talks about filming The Grudge.
Gellar plays Karen opposite Jason Behr (Roswell) in the remake of the Japanese horror Ju-On, directed by the original helmer, Takashi Shimizu.
Speaking to Sci Fi Wire at the recent Comic-Con International in San Diego, Gellar said that the fact she had just completed reshoots didn't mean the film was in trouble.
"It wasn't really reshoots; it was more added scenes," Gellar said. "It was adding a new element to it. It was an actor's dream... What they actually did was give us a more extensive backstory, which I think always makes you root for people more."
Of the remake she said: "I got to take one person to see this very rough cut... And she was so genuinely freaked out that she said to me afterwards, 'You know what that was like? I feel like I just saw a Japanese film, and I didn't need subtitles.' To me, that's the biggest compliment anyone could bring. The whole reason for doing this was to be part of something different."
The Grudge is set for release on 22nd October 2004.
