Buffy: Animated news

The cartoon adventures of Buffy could go straight to DVD.

Series writer David Fury, posting on the recognised Bronze Beta message board, has said that the production team behind the animated series are still trying to find a network to buy into it.

A showreel featuring the vocal talents of many of the original cast but not Sarah Michelle Gellar is currently being touted to the networks. According to rumours, Showtime has expressed an interest.

If the series isn't picked up, however, fans needn't worry. Fury says that there will be a DVD release, which will be either a stand-alone movie or a series.

If commissioned, the series will concentrate on Buffy's high school years.
