More Free Enterprise

More Free Enterprise

Sequel to Star Trek comedy planned.

According to Trek Today, writer Mark Altman is teaming up with Robert Meyer Burnett to produce a sequel to the 1998 film Free Enterprise.

'I didn't really want to do a sequel, but Rob and I came up with a great idea that we took to Shatner that he loved and proceeded to make even better and now it's taken on a life of its own,' said Altman.

Free Enterprise starred Eric McCormack (of Will and Grace fame) and Rafer Weigel as two Trek fans who bump into their idol, William Shatner (played by the man himself), in a bookshop. Cue much hilarity as the fans discover Bill is not the hero they thought he was and as Shatner reveals he plans to stage a one-man, musical version of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar!

Altman also mentioned the possibility of a spin-off television show, should the sequel be a hit.
