Enterprise VHS news

Paramount has announced they are to put a halt to the release of Enterprise on VHS due to poor sales. SPOILERS ahead.

Enterprise, despite being a new product, only accounts for a relatively small percentage of the total sales of the Star Trek franchise, which indicates that either fans are less than happy with the latest series, or that the age of VHS is well and truly over.

Cult television fans have always been the first to embrace new technology and so it might not be too surprising that the VHS releases of Enterprise have not sold very well.

The series has also under-performed in the ratings, so much so that a revamp has been promised by the production team, prior to season three.

The cliffhanger to season two sees the Xindi launch a probe that wipes out everything on Earth from Florida to Venezuela. Although the episodes of season three will stand alone, it is hoped that regular viewers will benefit from the excitement of watching the crew strive to complete a new mission, to defeat the Xindi.
