Blue Peter has a new editor, only the fifth in the show's 45 year history.

Richard Marson, currently the show's producer, has worked on the show for five years is keen to keep children tuning in, and control their 'itch to switch'.

"My aim is to keep the variety, ambition and scope of Blue Peter," he says.

Marson started his career at the BBC in planning before switching to studion management and then freelance producing.
