More Tomorrow People

Four new adventures are on the way from Big Finish.

The Tomorrow People are jaunting back to a CD player near you, Big Finish have revealed.

The announcement of the third series of audio plays comes shortly after the death of Philip Gilbert (the voice of TIM) in January.

Season three kicks off in August with The Slarvian Menace by Mark Wright in which mobile phones prove to be rather more than handy communications devices.

Cavan Scott is the author of The Warlock's Ring out in October which finds the Tomorrow People pursuing angels.

Finally, released in December, the penultimate story of season three is Saying Goodbye by Nigel Fairs in which Elena has a serious decision to make, and an old acquaintance has vanished from the Galactic Trig space station.

Nigel Fairs joins the Big Finish team as a producer. Talking to the Cult website he said how thrilled he is at taking on the role.

"I'm really honoured and excited to be working with Big Finish on The Tomorrow People audios," he said. "It's a series that had a huge impact in one way and another both on my childhood and on my subsequent creative and professional life.

"We hope to steer The Tomorrow People in a slightly more "serious" direction, whilst still embracing the original series' sense of fun," he added.

"Personally, I'm interested in the human angle - what it actually means to be a tomorrow person in an unstable world which doesn't exactly embrace the morality and purpose of the homo superiors. This is something I'm hoping to address in my own script, Saying Goodbye."

Nigel also tantalised us about another 70s telefantasy show being resurrected by Big Finish.

He said: "I can't begin to tell you how excited I am about the new Sapphire and Steel audios... about which I can say absolutely nothing!"
