Lost in Space

An update on the new Lost in Space TV movie.

The producer of the new Lost in Space TV movie, Kevin Burns has revealed that he is taking the project back to its roots.

Talking to Lost in Space Association president Glen Ware, Kevin Burns said that although he was essentially happy with the pilot, one thing that they've decided to change is the look of the Robot.

In a move that is set to delight fans of the original series the Robot will not only be voiced by the same actor (Dick Tufield) but it will also now look similar to the 60's show's bubble-headed booby.

This time around, however, the Robot will be created via computer generated effects.

Kevin Burns also said that he is considering re-recording John William's original theme for the movie.

The developments follow a recent behind-the-scenes drama that has seen ex Buffy executive producer Doug Petrie leave the project. It is understood that the reason Petrie left was because wanted to move the pilot away from the original series.

Here's hoping they reinstate the Doctor Smith character, should it go to a full series. We want the camp old nonsense of the original series, not another Star Trek: Voyager.
