Jetsons the movie

Another cartoon series gets a live-action makeover.

Make the madness stop! Following on from Scooby Doo and Garfield comes the news that a live-action version of The Jetsons is in development.

The Jetsons – you know, Hanna-Barbera's dismal attempt to replicate the success of The Flintstones by setting a series in the future.

This was the cartoon that the BBC always slammed on during the summer Saturday shows, presented by the likes of Mark Curry. Invariably the line-up prompted us to switch off the television set and do something less boring instead.

IGN FilmForce have reported that Catwoman producer Denise Di Novi will produce, with a script by Sam Harper (Cheaper by the Dozen), directed by Adam Shankman (Bringing Down the House).

But who will play George? Who cares?
