Blue Peter goes digital

There's no escape as BP goes daily.

Blue Peter is to become a daily magazine show on digital television.

From September, the 45 year-old TV stalwart will move from three to five episodes a week, as a mainstay of CBBC.

The move comes as the BBC has realised that, with children's viewing habits changing, a lot of traditional BP viewers now only watch the BBC's digital children's channels. So, the existing three episodes will be shown on CBBC, joined by another two weekly epsidoes, exclusive to digital TV.

Although there'll be a new set and a new theme, the current team of presenters will continue to host in teams of three. Editor Richard Marson promises new features, such as a Book Club.

It can only be a matter of time before Blue Peter becomes its own channel, country, and novelty drink.
