Babylon Trek

Babylon 5 creator involved in new Star Trek series proposal.

J. Michael Straczynski, the creator of Babylon 5, has claimed that he recently produced a treatment for a new Star Trek series. He revealed his involvement in a post on the JMS News site.

Straczyncki says the idea, developed alongside Dark Skies creator Bryce Zabel, would help to restore the ailing franchise if it was commissioned.

"I actually think it could be a hell of a show. Whether that ever goes anywhere with Paramount, who knows?"

The post seems to confirm reports earlier this year that Paramount had seriously considered proposals for a new series from outside the Star Trek: Enterprise production team.

Even William Shatner was said to have been asked to pitch an idea, which is a tad worrying.
