Trek to DVD

The original Star Trek series is being released on DVD.

It's time to go back to the beginning, as Paramount Home Entertainment release the original Star Trek series on DVD.

A box set featuring the first season will be released on 30th August. Highlights include Where no Man has Gone Before in which Captain Kirk is forced to do battle with his close friend Lieutenant Mitchell, who threatens to take over the galaxy.

In The Conscience of the King Kirk suspects the head of a theatre troupe to be a notorious mass murderer on the run, while in the two-part The Menagerie, Spock faces a court-martial after hijacking the Enterprise in a bid to return a dying former Starfleet captain to a forbidden planet.

The box set comes with a whole host of extras, including:
