Boss Hog Burt

Burt Reynolds joins The Dukes of Hazzard movie cast.

According to a report in Variety, Reynolds, star of Deliverance and Boogie Nights, is to play Boss Hogg in the big screen remake of the 80's TV series.

Also joining the cast is Willie Nelson as Uncle Jesse. The pair join the previously announced Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville as those good ole boys Bo and Luke, and singer Jessica Simpson as hotpant-wearing Daisy Duke.

Although The Dukes of Hazzard will be set in the present day, the producers have assured fans that our heroes will still drive the General Lee, a 1969 Dodge Charger.

Presumably, they'll still be in such a tearing hurry that they won't open the doors to get in the thing.
