24 goes mobile

24 season four to get mobile mini-me in the UK.

According to a report on the Variety.com website, the fourth season of 24 will be accompanied by a mobile-only spin-off in the UK.

Available to Vodaphone Live subscribers only, the mobile show is called 24: Conspiracy. It will consist of 24 one-minute long "mobisodes", as Fox is insisting on calling the installments, downloaded to subscribers' phones weekly.

The live-action spin-off follows CTU agent Susan Walker (Beverly Bryant) as she is pursued by colleague Martin Kali (Dylan Bruce) for a murder, but of course things aren't as simple as they first appear. Although some settings are the same, events in Conspiracy will be completely separate from the television series itself.

For once, we in the UK are getting to see something first - the American phone networks haven't yet been upgraded to the 3G network 24: Conspiracy needs. Us Brits should get to see it from 20th January, alongside the Sky One premiere of 24's fourth season, while the Yanks will just have to wait.
