Bleak Scully
Gillian Anderson to star in Bleak House adaptation.
The X Files star will play Lady Honoria Dedlock in an eight million pound BBC adaptation of Dickens' novel.
The 16 adaptation, written by A Very Peculiar Practice writer Andrew Davies, will be screened like a soap - twice a week, with cliffhanger endings.
"If Dickens was alive today, he'd be writing for EastEnders," said Davies about the decision to adapt the novel in this way.
Anderson joins an all-star cast for the production, including old Stars In Their Eyes host Matthew Kelly, Denis Lawson, Charles Dance, Timothy West, Alun Armstrong, ex-EastEnder Charlie Brooks, Pauline Collins, Richard Griffiths, Alistair McGowan and Johnny Vegas.
