Checkers Island
Well we have a ghost. It is Charles Dickens! Dickens moved into 48 Doughty Street on March 25th, 1837 on a three year lease. It is now the Dickens House Museum.
CHECKERS ISLAND is simply an anagram of CHARLES DICKENS.
The ghost of Charles Dickens is often seen dressed in black with a top hat, pacing along the street.
Dickens's sister-in-law Mary Hogarth died in this house. Her death was the inspiration behind the death of Little Nell in The Old Curiosity Shop.
