Referendum Campaigning Suspended

All campaigning for the referendum on Welsh devolution has been suspended following the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. It will resume on Monday, after the funeral of the Princess on Saturday.
The Government confirmed the referendum will go ahead as planned on Thursday September 18th. Parliament would have to be recalled if the dates of the Scottish and Welsh referendums were to be changed and that is not expected to happen.
The Welsh Office confirmed that Secretary of State Ron Davies and his fellow Welsh Office Ministers would not engage in any political activity this week. Other political parties have followed suit. The Yes for Wales and the Just Say No campaigns also confirmed that they would suspend their political campaigning until next week.
