Your Thoughts

Diana is not personally known to many Filipinos but I know that there are many now who have deep sympathy and love for her. As we watch the unfolding of the funeral services, we cannot help but feel the great loss the Princes William and Harry must be feeling in their hearts, for not only Britain, but rather the whole world has lost a wonderful person on this earth, but have gained an inspiration in the heavens.

What a wonderful service. The eulogy by Earl Spencer was unbelievably moving, and we loved Elton John's Candle in the wind. May Diana's soul live in everlasting peace.

Well done Earl Spencer, you said it for us all.

How could anyone not have been touched and moved by Earl Spencer's speech. A very fitting and courageous tribute to his sister who touched the hearts of our nation and whose kindness knew no borders. May Diana's soul now rest in peace.

It's a terrible loss. She will be sorely missed. Also by me, although I am not British, but I do understand completely what her family and the British people are going through now. I grieve also with the British people. I watch the BBC and I saw the way to the church, the service itself. It was a beautiful service and found that Diana's brother Earl was very strong to read such a beautiful speech.

I wish her family and the British people God's strength in these difficult times. My thoughts are with you.

Earl Spencer said exactly what the Queen should have said. Anyhow, the Queen only spoke out last night, because of public demand and pressure - she felt she had to, and in my opinion it did NOT come from the heart.

God Bless Princess Diana, Rest in Peace

I am disgusted at the way the BBC News Summary (which immediately followed the funeral) twisted Earl Spencer's words. His anger was directed at the Media - not the Monarchy.

It is disgraceful that a service of such quality from all its contributors was betrayed by the one element of the media that could have been relied on.

The BBC missed the mark by a mile and its reputation has been tarnished

A deeply moving funeral, which everyone felt part of. I hope the whole world was watching.
I'm sitting at my computer. There is so much I want to say, but I'm not sure where to start. I'm watching the procession video stream on the internet. The first thing that hits you is the nothingness. So many people, so little noise.

I'm watching a unique ceremony for a unique person. Who would have thought it? The normally sombre and 'correct' British public, clapping at a funeral. Yet it seems correct. God bless you Diana. May you live on through your sons William and Harry, their bravery and true character shining through this week in a way which you would be proud of. You have given them their strength.

Rest in peace, Diana.

As a counsellor, dealing with loss and bereavement in my working life, and as a woman, and caring mother, I would like to express first of all to the young Princes, William and Harry, to the Earl, his mother and sisters, my condolences and caring thoughts for their future welfare.

I would like to express my congratulations at the Earl's wonderful address at the funeral. I believe that the whole nation echoed his thoughts and feelings, which were so bravely expressed in Westminster Abbey today.

Grief does not disappear overnight; we all need time to openly reveal our love and fears in order to work through these powerful emotions. I pray that with Earl Spencer's powerful assistance the Royal Family will bow to the will of the people and allow William and Harry to be the People's Princes in a way that their father sadly was not able to be.

I held Princess Diana in the highest esteem. On a very personal level, I shall miss seeing her beautiful warmth, glowing from the pages of my paper or entering my home through the medium of television.

God bless you, Diana, and keep you safe in the knowledge that we shall love and help your sons forever.

Earl Spencer has today voiced the mood of the nation with a speech whose love, sorrow, anger and passion has captured the heart and fired the mind of every decent person in the world. No one deserves the treatment Diana received at the hands of the Press, and now it is up to every one of us to make sure that never again is one so good hurt so much by those whose arrogant claim is to love.

I write this through tears of sadness whilst watching the funeral service of Princess Diana. The song, and the words spoken by Earl Spencer touched me and I am sure many others. Please could we have this on CD and allow all of the money to go towards Diana's charities. A lasting memory of Diana, one which we can listen to, which will allow us to remember her in such beautiful words and song. Diana the true English rose - no words could have been sweeter.

Rest in Peace forever and let us never forget what you have done for us all!

Love always.

In your television news report you described Princess Diana's great emotional problems as caused by the Royal Family, when it was quite obvious by when and how it was said that it was a criticism of the Press. The only thing that vaguely rang of criticism was that the Royals are rather conservative, and even then he conceded that there was place for that in Harry and William's upbringing. It seems to me that the BBC is trying to create anti-royal sentiment, and try to exonerate the Press to an extent by misrepresenting Earl Spencer. This to me puts you into the same category as the tabloids. You do Princess Diana's memory, the Royal Family, and the Spencer family a great disservice and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Diana's sister's poem was saying 'get on with your lives, and finish her work, stop moping around', which is something we should all bear in mind.

'She would want us today to pledge ourselves to protecting her beloved boys, William and Harry, from a similar fate - and I do this here, Diana, on your behalf', Earl Spencer said.

This was in reference to the Press, not the Royal Family. It was positioned exactly in the speech where he was dealing with the Press. TELL THE NEWS, tell the TRUTH.
