Israel Takes Steps to Prevent More Bombings
Security has been stepped up in Israel where the Minister of Public
Safety has urged people to remain alert in case there are further suicide bombings.
Threats of more violence were contained in a leaflet, said to have been issued by the Islamic militant group Hamas, after the recent bombing in Jerusalem.
Security patrols are on alert in Israeli towns and cities bordering Gaza, now sealed off from Israel, and the West Bank which was raided by Israeli troops on Thursday.

A leaflet threatens more violence

Police fear another bomb attack after a leaflet was issued claiming responsibility for Wednesday's bombing lay with Hamas. The leaflet threatened further attacks if all Palestinian prisoners were not released by Sunday evening (August 3).
The authenticity of the leaflet has not been established and the two suicide bombers who carried out the attack have not been identified yet.
Security sources have said they are not certain the market bombing was in fact the work of Hamas, but Israeli police are not taking any chances.
