Left Condemns First 100 Days
The editor of a left-wing magazine whose advisers include a Labour MP, MEP and a new Labour peer, has given a savage appraisal of the party's first 100 days in government.
Hilary Wainwright, editor of the left/green magazine Red Pepper, has accused the Government of "arrogant centralised control and the disastrously conservative economics of the workhouse".
She warned of problems in store as a result of the Government's policies. "The foundations are being laid for exciting times over which New Labour could lose control. Whether it can ride them depends on a flexibility that is not so far apparent," she wrote.

Jeremy Corbyn has been a constant critic of the leadership

Red Pepper's editor accused the Government's spin doctors of trying to wrap politics in clingfilm, denying participation. "Any measure which allows us to get our hands on the policies is fudged and delayed - witness the Freedom of Information and the Minister for women," she said.
The magazine's "advisers" include Labour MP, Jeremy Corbyn, and the crime writer, Ruth Rendell, who was made a Labour working peer in last weekend's honours list. The Labour MEP, Hugh Kerr, and playwright, Harold Pinter, are also advisers.
Tony Blair will mark his first 100 days in office on Saturday.
