I Robot... You Jane

Trivia

The Character Formerly Known as Nicki: Technopagan Jenny Calendar makes her first appearance in this episode. Played by former dancer and member of Prince's New Power Generation Robia LaMorte, the character was originally to be called Nicki. This was changed to avoid confusion on set as Nicholas Brendon is generally called Nicky by his co-stars.

Radio Whedon: The announcer's voice on the radio Giles listens to is apparently that of series creator Joss Whedon.

All That Jazz: The lead Monk in the teaser section is credited as Thelonius. This is a sly reference to famous Jazz musician Thelonius Monk. Nice.

Scary Movies: Director Stephen Posey began his career as a cinamatographer and director of horror movies. One such film, Slumber Party Massacre, was shocking enough to be banned in Germany.

Happy Birhhday: The great Buffy birthday debate starts here. When Moloch accesses Buffy's school records, her date of birth is shown as October 24th 1980. Later in the episode the date mysteriously changes to June 5th 1979.

Season two's Surprise reveals that Buffy was born in mid January 1981. Finally, in season four's Doomed, she tells Riley that she is "Capricorn, on the cusp of Aquarius." This suggests she was actually born on or around January 19th 1981.

Oops!: How exactly does Willow scan Moloch out of his book when the scan is only about two thirds the width of it? Also, how does Buffy manage to follow Dave to the CRD building so easily when he's driving and she isn't?
