Trivia
RILEY, YOU BIG LUG
A small shrine to the dumbest man on TV. This week:
Check Riley's expression when he walks in on Buffy's surprise party with a crossbow. Like d'uh.
Tactlessly, he asks Giles if he's retired.
We learn that he's killed 17 whole demons. Oooh.
"I'm not even sure I could take you," he mumbles to Buffy, artlessly.
Buffy breaks him when they're fighting.
Agent Finn gets 911 calls, has a key to every store in Sunnydale, access to hotel registers, and can despatch Ethan Rayne to Area 51. And yet he's still dim. Amazing.
"You're really strong. Like Spider-man strong." Riley always knows what to say.
"She is the truest soul I've ever known." Oh dear. As we said last week, this boy writes love poetry.

Sorcerer Ethan Rayne returns. Giles's adolescent nemesis has previously tormented him in Band Candy, the Dark Age and Halloween.
Jane Espenson wrote this episode. Find out more in our interview with her.
"Something's harming Demons ... something called 314". There's a slight thematic crossover here between Buffy and Angel. Buffy's sister series also became increasingly concerned with equal rights for oppressed demons. We learn more about 314 next week.
"I'm an unemployed librarian with a tendency to get knocked on the head": Giles has a point. He was first knocked unconscious in The Witch, and has had a grand time lying groaning on the floor ever since.
Floating rose petals: There's definitely more going on in Willow and Tara's spell than we're aware of - perhaps something to do with dark magic, perhaps something to do with Willow lying when Buffy remarks, "I didn't hear you come in last night".
Anya's hair: Does many lovely things this week. It's either short and in a geisha-style bun, or it's long and silky.
Giles and Ethan's drinks: Watch them closely - they're a continuity nightmare, with drink levels rising and falling all over the place.
Bad Spike edit: For once it's not the BBC's fault! The weird moment when Spike's voice is speeded up just before the car crash is all part of late edits to the show when it overran. He's fine, but it is the last we'll be seeing of Giles's car.
