Trivia

RILEY, YOU BIG LUG

A small shrine to the dumbest man on TV. This week:

He sucks up ruthlessly to Buffy's Mum. He's just so upstanding.

'I can't say I'm about to violate her firstborn'. Well, no. That would be stupid.

He keeps on calling Dawn 'Kid'. Even after she shouts at him for doing it.

He describes himself as ... wait for it ..."a studly yet sensitive boyfriend." Studly, yes. Sensitive?

I'm not going to Hogwarts: Dawn's anti-magic-shop aside is Buffy paying homage to Harry Potter - it's the school for wizards that Harry attends. The cast and crew, particularly Sarah Michelle Gellar are huge fans of J.K. Rowling's novels.

Harmony: She's back, and she has Minions who steal Unicorns for her. So, she's evil in the sense that she has no taste whatsoever? Or in that she turns vampires into Sire-whipped china stealers? For those of you who just joined us, Harmony used to be a member of Cordelia's gang, before becoming a vampire and going out (unhappily) with Spike.

Spinal Tap: This famous rock-mockumentary features a heavy metal band whose drummers regularly explode and die in mysterious fashions, such as gardening accidents. We last saw a magic shop owner die horribly in Lover's Walk.

Dawn again: Michelle Trachtenberg previously worked with Sarah Michelle Gellar on the American daytime soap All My Children. She also starred in the children's film Harriet the Spy, written by Buffy scribe Doug Petrie.

All red and sporty: After bidding farewell to his trusty Citroen in Season Four, Giles has finally invested in a new set of wheels. If only he could just get the hang of the automatic transmission of his bright red BMW convertible...
