French Lessons: Preying mantis lady Musetta Vander went on to appear in the films Wild Wild West and Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?
The real Natalie French is played by Jean Speegle Howard - mother of top Hollywood director Ron Howard. She had a small part in his space epic Apollo 13.
Doubling Up: The episode was the first to be written by Co-Executive Producer David Greenwalt. David went on to create the Angel spin-off with Joss Whedon and runs that show on a day-to-day basis. He apparently started his career as a body double for actor Jeff Bridges.
Whats in a name?: For the first time, we learn that that Xander's middle name is LaVelle. As he says, "Id appreciate it if you guard that secret with your life." Who are we to argue? We also discover that Willow's last name is Rosenberg.
No Jacket Required: The first true hint of a chemistry between Buffy and Angel develops as he gives her his leather jacket - much to Xanders annoyance. Buffy wears the jacket in several subsequent episodes, even as late as the third season.
Oops!: When Doctor Gregory lectures the class about ants, he is projecting the image of a beetle onto the screen behind him. Off with his head!
Fine Music: Band of the week at the Bronze are Superfine. They perform the tracks Already Met You (which appears on the official Buffy soundtrack album) and Stoner Love.
