Trivia

Spike: This episode features the return of Spike from visiting Angel in LA. The opening (Spike brooding from a distance) is remarkably similar to the start of the third episode of Angel. Until it all goes horribly wrong for Spike.

Commando guys: The teasing appearances of men in uniform continue, with Buffy tripping over one in the woods. You can bet we'll be seeing more of them.

Veruca: Oz has glimpsed her on campus before in Beer Bad. She's not the first literary character with this unusual name - that honour goes to Veruca Salt in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The foot wart is spelt "verucca".

Oz's cage: In this show, Oz has a cage in a crypt (a familiar Buffy setting, and, we suspect, set). Previously he had a cage in the library, and tried manacling himself up at home.

Oz: Seth Green leaves Buffy as a regular this episode. As well as filming Knoackaround Guys in Canada, he was also supplying voices for the hit American cartoon series Family Guy. He was also the only member of the cast to have worked in the original film (though not as Oz, and his part didn't make the final cut). Oz takes the band's van with him, proving that he owns it.

Tears: Oz is the first bloke in Buffy to cry. Though we have had Angel whimpering a bit when he returned from Hell.
