Trivia

Rack 'em up: So where have you seen him before? Actor Jeff Kober is probably best know on this side of the Atlantic for his series of Bacardi adverts, in which he was Ray from Reef Radio.

He also starred in the Buffy episode Helpless as the Vampire Zackary Kralik, whom Buffy has to slaughter without her Slayer powers on her 18th birthday. Hmm... nice present.

The American Delia Smith: Martha Stewart, a witch according to Anya, is the queen of US cooking and homemaking lifestyle TV. She's as widely admired for decorating recommendations as she's disliked for her annoying perfectionism.

Decoupage: Derived from the French word decouper, decoupage - meaning to cut out - is the creative art of assembling, pasting and varnishing paper cut-outs for decorating objects.

Mommie Dearest: Dawn says "I think she's feeling all Joan Crawford 'cause of last night." Mention Joan Crawford to pretty much anyone and the first film to come to mind is Mommie Dearest.

This notorious biopic portrays Joan as difficult, not to say completely insane; a woman who beat the living hell out of her children while all the time walking and talking as if the cameras were there to film it.

Ol' Black Eyes is Back: The episode references drugs and addiction in several places:

At Rack's Willow is first "high" (she's on the ceiling) then comes down (literally).

Amy says "busted", as in drug bust, when Buffy catches her. She carries a bag of sage, and obviously believes that Buffy thinks its something else, presumably cannabis.

Rack mentions strawberries just before Willow's little psychedelic episode. A reference to the Beatles' Strawberry Fields, maybe?

If you would like more information about drugs and addiction, and ways to deal with them, see the BBC Health site.

Living on the ceiling: The music playing when Willow is floating is Laika's Black Cat Bone.

Tracking the kid: Spike tells Buffy to get a Lojack for Dawn so she doesn't keep getting lost. Lojack's are a kind of US car tracking device.

Curtains for Willow: Willow says claudete, a form of the Latin word claudere, to the curtains to try to draw them remotely. It means close or shut.

Over to you: Our ask the audience question today is about Rack's movable invisible place. We have "racked our brains" and can't figure out the reference... Any ideas? Let us know in Talk Buffy.
