John Wyndham - the writer of the original novel had a very, very long name: John Wyndham Parkes Lucas Beynon Harris.

Triffids on the loose! Some of the model triffids were displayed at the Natural History Museum in an exhibit about carnivorous plants. Steve Drewett, who designed them, originally worked there.

Gary Olsen - had a very minor role as 'Man with Red Hair'. He's better known as Ben in '2point4 Children'. Sadly, Gary died of cancer at the age of 42 in September 2000.

Maurice Colbourne played social reformer Jack Coker. He went on to star in Howard's Way and to play a very shifty policeman in Doctor Who.
