Here's what you said about season three.

I am not given to reviewing programmes on the web. 25 years as a film editor has taught me that a)It's all done with mirrors and b)what you think depends on how much you've had to drink. But it has also taught me what is good/bad TV and this is great TV.

The more we learn about Scorpius, the more I like and admire him. To find out that all he has done is to save the Sebaceans from genocide, rather than acting from motives of petty personal power, was quite a revelation.

It is very interesting the way questions of morality and the grey areas within them are dealt with in this show. Its a hell of a lot deeper than the space opera it seems to be at first glance.

For as Scorpius is revealed to be a selfless and rather noble figure, John Crichton is revealed to be far less heroic than he at first seemed. We get to see Crichton being driven by unfulfilled desire for revenge and for Aeryn, and by fear of Scorpius until he becomes the Scarren's best friend in their war against the Sebaceans.

Farscape has to be the best science fiction ever broadcast. It has kept me glued throughout all three series and has become more of a religion in my household than a mere TV programme.

Not only does the storyline keep unfolding along lines that forever surprise us, but the special effects and cinematography know almost no bounds. For example, the Requiem mass-like chants used over the scenes of the destruction of the Peackeeper Command Carrier in the penultimate episode were breathtaking.

Never before have I been taken on such a rollercoaster ride of emotions in a single episode, let alone an entire series.

I thought that this season ran the gamut from fair to outstanding. Having no episodes that could be rated poor in an entire season is vanishingly rare and is a fit crown to what is arguably the finest science-fiction television show on-air today.

While I enjoyed season three a lot, I really felt that the balance of the show was lost when Zhaan left. I also was not that keen on the two Crichtons storyline. Farscape is an ensemble show, and every episode was missing some of the major characters. I found I missed Aeryn or DArgo or Chiana.

Season three in general has been less entertaining then the first two seasons.

Scorpius made a great villain for the second season, but with the introduction of Harvey inside Johns head he became less threatening.

Add in the fact that John is not bumbling around as much anymore. He knows things about his surroundings and therefore doesn't get surprised as much. This makes for fewer amusing jokes.

The final thing season three did which annoyed me was play around with all the characters. Aeryn is dead, no wait, Zhaan is dead. Stark is back. No, Stark left. Jool is here. Who in the hell is Jool?
