Arts vs. Science

Douglas often appeared when TV programmes needed someone cool to promote the sciences. Here, he is discussing the divide between the Arts and Science on Newsnight.

He often stated that if he had been better at maths he would have gone in to the sciences - possibly as a software designer. Instead, he remained passionately involved with making people see science as something full of wonder, and relevant to their everyday lives.

His interest in software design lead to his involvement with several computer games, and to his online project, h2g2.
