1963 marked the year of the Sindy Doll hitting the UK public.
More 'girl next door' than the glamorous Barbie (pictured), Sindy was advertised
as the 'doll you love to dress'.
She was 11 1/2" tall, had painted side glancing eyes and came
in a range of of hair colours in a curly bob style. She also had
a scarily wide face.
Sindy was first released with a 'weekenders' outfit consisting
of jeans and a striped shirt.
Later in life Sindy again followed the Barbie trend and got herself
a boyfriend called Paul, who is said to be named after Paul McCartney
and was billed as 'the well dressed young man'.
