Shoulda Stood in Bed
Kingdom Hospital Mrs. Druse is summoned for a séance to head off an earthquake; the truth jeopardizes Stegman's career.

Written by:Stephen King
Directed by: Craig Baxley

With more earthquakes prompting Schwarzton's dire warnings, and Elmer looking to conceal Schweigen's severed head, more seizures allow Peter to see what Mary saw just before the fatal mill fire. As Natalie Rickman realizes that something is happening inside her husband's brain, Mary is sent to bring Mrs. Druse for a séance.

But after finding Nat, Hook, Chris, and Louis in Peter's room, Mrs. Druse dismisses them so that she can join Peter, Mary, and the Antubis for a journey into the Old Kingdom to confront Paul and Gottreich.

Though sure he's avoided any trouble from his plagiarism and the Klingerman surgery, as Stegman prepares to meet Brenda for their trip, he's stunned to find the incriminating anaesthesiologist's report plastered all over the hospital. Realizing that it could spell the end of his medical career, he calls Brenda at the airport and, after making his anger clear, heads to see Dr. James, certain that he'll have to explain what's happened.

As the battle with Gottreich rages, and Peter gets a look into the Kingdom's future, Brenda heads back from the airport determined to avenge Stegman's insults. While Hook and Chris hope to stop the earthquakes by enlisting Elmer in the séance, Stegman learns that his misdeeds will mean trouble. And after discovering that Brenda angrily killed all of his experimental lab rats, Stegman considers suicide as an escape. But when he finds his car has been vandalized again, at Paul's urging, he vows to get revenge.

Girl Trivia

Rickman's storyline is closely based on Stephen King's near-death experience in 1999.
