As earthquakes centered on Kingdom Hospital bring geologist Dr. Richard Schwarzton to investigate, deep in the basement, Paul all but seals the Antubis's fate before encouraging Rolf Pederson to kill Peter Rickman. And needing their support to fend off a malpractice suit filed after his surgery on Mona Klingerman, Stegman resigns himself to being inducted into the hospital's secret medical fraternity, the Keepers of the Kingdom. Meanwhile, Elmer seeks to take advantage of his resemblance to the late Frank Schweigen to prove his love for Lona.
With Schwarzton at a banquet welcoming him to town, at the hospital, Peter tries warning Natalie not to leave him with Rolf. Yet, once they're alone, Rolf prepares to make Peter his next victim. As Abel and Christa look on, Hook tries to seduce Chris in his basement apartment.
After the alcoholic Schwarzton is accidentally served a glass of wine at the banquet, he cannot resist polishing off the bottles he finds back in his hotel room. Meanwhile, when James asks him to destroy any evidence in the Klingerman case, Stegman tries to escape the ceremony, only to end up deep beneath the hospital, face to face with Dr. Gottreich's ghost.
As Mary tries to save Peter by drawing him into the Kingdom's ghost world, Elmer's use of Frank's severed head to shock Lona backfires. And as Rolf's murder attempts are interrupted by Brick, Peter joins Mary's effort to save the Antubis. Finally, as the missing head threatens to ruin Elmer's career, Paul encourages Rolf to seize the moment and kill Mrs. Druse and Peter. Yet, startled by Gottreich, Rolf ends up setting himself on fire when he is confronted by the fully revived Antubis, while an alcoholic stupor lands Schwarzton in a straightjacket.
