It seems that Spike is not the only new addition to the cast of Angel in the fifth season. Warning! There are spoilers ahead.

According to a report on FilmJerk.com a new recurring character will join the show in the season opener, written and directed by Joss Whedon.

The episode, which begins filming on 24th July 24, features the introduction of Eve, who is described as being in her mid-to-late 20s and 'smart, beautiful, and vulnerable with a sweetness that makes her accessible.' The production team is currently looking for an actress of any ethnicity to play her.

Eve provides a point of liaison between Angel and the higher beings at Wolfram and Hart.

FilmJerk.com have also obtained the following script extract, which features an exchange between Eve and Angel:

"I know what you're thinking. Lilah Morgan was used to bring you in because she was a familiar face... but you won't be seeing her again. She was just L.A. I work out of all the branches, keeping them connected is a lot of my job. So I'm your guy. Plus, keeping a dead person animated on a physical plane... wait till you get your power bill."
