Cult Emmys

The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences have presented its Creative Arts Awards, and some cult favourites were among the winners.

The awards held on Saturday 13th September at the Shrine Auditorium, LA honoured the backroom staff for such shows as Will and Grace and Cher: The Farewell Tour.

In the Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series, axed show Firefly was the winner. Firefly won its Emmy for the episode Serenity, beating the Buffy The Vampire Slayer episode Chosen in the process.

Meanwhile, Alias won awards in the fields of stunts and makeup.

  • Outstanding Animated Program (For Programming Less Than One Hour) - The Simpsons - Three Gays of the Condo
  • Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series - 24
  • Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series - Malcolm in the Middle - If Boys Were Girls
  • Outstanding Makeup for a Series (Non-Prosthetic) - Alias - The Counteragent
  • Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Dramatic Underscore) - 24
  • Outstanding Stunt Coordination - Alias - The Telling
