Trek actors for peace.

Connor Trinneer of Enterprise is one of many actors who performed for peace yesterday.

Trinneer, who plays gung-ho Chief Engineer Charles "Trip" Tucker on the latest Star Trek series, took part in the Lysistrata Project to protest at US war plans.

The project is named after an ancient Greek play, in which the wives of soldiers end a war by refusing to sleep with their husbands until they stop fighting.

The many actors supporting the project all appeared in more than nine hundred productions of Lysistrata which took place across America and around the world yesterday. Trinneer's performance took place at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles.

Explaining the reasons behind the project, founder Sharron Bower said, "Our purpose is to make it clear that President Bush does not speak for all Americans. Our message is simple: if you oppose this war, then speak up!"
