Enterprise expanded

Rick Berman has been talking about changes to the NX-01 crew for the end of Enterprise's second season. (Spoilers ahead!)

Titled "The Expanse", the finale sees an alien attack ravage the Earth, well, North America at any rate. To track down the source of the threat, the Enterprise crew head off into the previously unheard of Delphic Expanse of space.

Aiding the mission will be some new faces, who are expected to stay for season three.

"We're going to be dealing with some new, non-Starfleet people coming on the ship to add a little muscle," Enterprise producer Rick Berman told Sci-Fi Wire. He also revealed that big shocks and big decisions are ahead for the established crew.

"One of our characters is going to lose someone back on Earth during this devastaing blow," explained Berman. "There's going to be a major change to T'Pol, based on whether or not she'll join the crew [in the Delphic Expanse mission]."

According to him, this episode is "a real course [correction]" which would "in a way, give us a new show to write." With lacklustre US ratings, it may be about time.

The finale will air in the US on May 21st. No UK date has yet been set.
